Message From Carie Crane

Carie Crane

Carie Crane, Vice President of Professional Development, LOMA

It can be challenging for leaders like you to identify programs that focus on critical issues and opportunities that are especially relevant to leaders in OUR industry. LIMRA and LOMA have filled that need for nearly 100 years by providing industry-specific research and professional development for employees at all levels. The Strategic Leadership Experience is our latest investment in bringing the next generation of industry leaders together to enhance your skills and knowledge in an industry-centric learning experience. We’ve chosen to partner with Wharton, because, like us, they’ve specialized in providing development opportunities for leaders across the financial services industry for many years.

Program Structure

Participants who complete the 24-month experience will earn a LIMRA LOMA Wharton Certificate. This certificate recognizes their leadership, commitment to their professional development, and dedication to shaping the future of our industry.

The program is held in person on the campus of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, located in Philadelphia, PA, and consists of three annual sessions.

For each session, participants arrive at 4:15 p.m. for registration, program welcome, and dinner on Monday evening and depart at 12:00 p.m. on Friday each year.

Program content is designed as a continuous learning experience, which includes multiple opportunities for collaboration with fellow participants, industry experts, and Wharton faculty.

In between sessions, participants will work in Action Learning Teams (3-4 hours a year) and have the chance to participate in other engagement events.

Program Curriculum

All sessions include opportunities for collaboration with peers from other member companies, representing diverse lines of business/functional areas of expertise and years of industry knowledge, to ensure that concepts learned can be applied in your own organization.
