Revised LOMA 281 (English): What This Means to You

Effective July 1, 2026, LOMA will launch a new, enhanced version of LOMA 281: Meeting Customer Needs with Insurance and Annuities in English. Translated versions of this revision edition will be available in French and Traditional Chinese beginning January 1, 2027. This popular course continues to deliver foundational industry knowledge, with a focus on the meaningful role our industry plays in customers’ lives. People who are new to the industry will feel connected to and proud of the work they do, while also gaining an understanding of insurance products and operations.

What This Means for Learners

Our transition to the revised course materials is designed to minimize disruption for learners:

  • Learners enrolled in LOMA 281 (English) prior to the July 1, 2026, launch of the new materials will retain their full six months of access to the current course materials.
  • Learners can view their course access expiration date by logging into their LOMA Learning System account and viewing their LOMA 281 enrollment at “My Learning.” In addition, learners will receive an email one month before their course access expiration date encouraging them to complete their current enrollment.
  • If those learners do not complete the course within their sixmonth access period, they may be eligible for a discounted reenrollment fee. However, learners who reenroll in the English version on or after July 1, 2026, will be placed in the revised version of the course and must restart from the beginning. Prior progress will not be carried forward. For more information, visit LOMA Policies and Procedures and select “Accessing Study Materials.”
  • Any new English LOMA 281 enrollments purchased on or after July 1, 2026, will be placed in the revised version of the course automatically.
