Who Attends

The meeting is open to insurance company executives, with a discounted registration fee for LIC members, group discounts, and a discount for fraternal members of the American Fraternal Alliance. Affiliate Members/Vendors must be a sponsor in order to participate in this LIC Committee Meeting, limit one representative per company (see LIC sponsorship opportunities).

Highlights

The LIC Operations Committee Meeting is a chance for executives from small-to-midsize life insurance companies and fraternals, and relevant service providers, to get together in a unique peer networking meeting. Join us to learn, share your thoughts, and get feedback from others involved in smaller-company operations.

The meeting brings together 15-20 small-to-midsize life insurance company representatives and relevant vendors. The program includes:

  • Operations Case Study by Security National Life, focusing on operational KPIs and efficiencies
  • Obitdata: An Untapped Business Intelligence Source, presented by John Heald, Legacy.com
  • Planning, Managing, Implementing, Reviewing: A Tech Platform Implementation, presented by Jes Vargas from Benekiva and Angela Daleske from Homesteaders Life Company
  • Emtech/Catholic Life Insurance Case Study, presented by Sashia Godet from Emtech Group and Roxy Huron from Catholic Life
  • Facilitated discussion topics including:
    • Implications of AI for the future of life insurance and annuities
    • What measures are organizations taking to mitigate fraud with AI being so prevalent?
    • Incorporating technology into customer support through IVA/chatbots.

This is an in-person meeting. The itinerary begins at 2:00 pm Mountain Time on Wednesday, September 24 with attendee introductions and discussion before heading out to a hosted networking dinner. Thursday September 25 we'll meet in the morning for presentations and more discussion, and wrap up the program with lunch ending at 12:30 pm. 

This meeting is preceded by the LIC Enterprise Risk Management Committee Meeting, also hosted by Security National Life, September 23-24, 2025 (see www.loma.org/LICERM to sign up).

LIC Committee Meetings are open to insurance companies/fraternals, as well as vendors/service providers that are sponsoring the meeting. Sponsorship Fee will be billed separately (see LIC Sponsorships). 

Insurance Companies

  • LIC Member: $225
  • LOMA/LIMRA Member: $275
  • Nonmember: $375
  • Earlybird Discount: Sign up by September 5 and save $50
  • Group Discount: After one paid registration, insurance carriers and fraternals can use code GRP50 for 50% off additional attendees. This INCLUDES registration for either the ERM or Operations meetings!
  • Fraternals: AFA Member Societies save $100 - register at the AFA Website.

  • LIC Member Sponsorship Fee: $875 billed separately
  • Nonmember Sponsorship Fee: $1,375 billed separately
  • Includes one attendee (code SPONSOR) - limit one per company

Cancellation Policy

Refund Policy: All cancellations/substitutions and refund requests must be received in writing - please submit your request to customer.service@limra.com. Cancellations received by September 16, 2025, will be refunded, less a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be issued after September 16. Substitutions are allowed at no charge.

We'll be based in Downtown Salt Lake City, where dinners will be located, and will carpool from the Hilton Salt Lake City Center to Security National for the meeting sessions, approximately 15 minutes' drive.

Getting There

Security National Life is about a 15-minute (14 miles) drive from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

If headed to the Hilton first, it's a 12-minute drive from the airport. The TRAX light rail is a 22-minute ride from the airport to Gallivan Plaza Station, a 4-minute walk to the Hilton.

The Hilton has self parking for $35/night and valet for $45/night. LIC will help coordinate carpools from the hotel to the meeting for those who would like to share a ride.
