Highlights

The LIC Annuity Committee Meeting is a chance for executives from small-to-midsize life insurance companies and fraternals, and relevant service providers, to get together in a unique peer networking meeting. Join us to learn, share your thoughts, and get feedback from other small companies involved in selling annuities.

Sample discussion topics include:

  • Challenges companies are facing around annuity sales, and ways to help consumers better understand the products
  • Why annuitants surrender and strategies for annuity conservation/retention
  • Successful ways to build relationships with annuity agents, training and communication ideas
  • Market and product trends (variable/index/fixed), latest and potential future indexed annuity features
  • Strategies for profitability and competitiveness

The meeting brings together 15-20 small-to-midsize life insurance company representatives and relevant vendors. The meeting will include speaker presentations as well as activity reports and facilitated discussion among the attendees.

The itinerary will include Networking Dinner on Tuesday, October 18, a full-day meeting and dinner on Wednesday, October 19, and meeting 9 am – 12 pm  on Thursday, October 20. 

The meeting is open to insurance company executives, with a discounted registration fee for LIC members, group discounts, and a discount for fraternal members of the American Fraternal Alliance. Affiliate Members/Vendors must sponsor the meeting in order to attend (see LIC sponsorship opportunities).

Remote Option Available

Registration can be either in person or remote. Registration fees and discounts are the same - simply select your option in the registration form. For those attending in person, please see the Health & Safety section for any Covid-related requirements currently in effect.

Non-insurance companies must be a sponsor in order to participate in LIC Committee events. LIC Committee Meeting Sponsorship is $800 for LIC Affiliate Members, $1300 for Nonmembers, and includes one registration. This meeting will require in-person attendees to bring proof of full vaccination or negative Covid test using the provided CLEAR app.

The health and safety of our conference attendees is our top priority as we return to meeting in person. We are committed to holding our events in accordance with currently applicable CDC and local laws, rules, regulations, or guidance. This is a shared responsibility, and we ask that all attendees abide by the following guidelines and procedures.

By signing up to attend in person, you agree to: 

1. Prior to Event

  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (as defined by the CDC) OR a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of arrival.
    • All registrants will be required to upload their vaccination information or negative COVID test results onto the CLEAR app we are providing at no charge.
    • CLEAR APP INSTRUCTIONS.
  • If you are aware that you have been exposed to COVID-19 in the two weeks prior to the meeting, or if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you DO NOT attend an in-person event.
  • Follow cleaning and safety procedures during your trip to maintain a safe travel environment (e.g., disinfecting surfaces, wearing a face covering, etc.).

2. On-Site at the Event

  • Follow any on-site mask requirements.
  • Adhere to social distance protocols.
  • Wash hands frequently throughout the meeting.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing.
  • Comply with posted signage.
  • Self-monitor and report any symptoms to meeting organizers immediately.

3. Post Event

  • Notify event organizer if you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after returning home.

How to Prepare for Air Travel

Your airline is the best source for personal safety protocols at the gate and on the airplane. Be sure to visit your airline website the week you are traveling and sign up for notifications related to your trip.
