Excellence in Education Awards

The Excellence in Education Award recognizes companies doing an outstanding job of talent development through LOMA's professional designation programs.

In January 2017, LOMA's criteria for earning this prestigious award changed. To qualify under the new criteria, a company must be a full, affiliate, or academic member of LOMA and demonstrate ongoing support and promotion of LOMA education programs by virtue of

  • Its learners having successfully completed a minimum of 50 designation program courses during 2017.
  • Having a high percentage of successful completions on all designation program courses whether in a proctored (traditional) or non-proctored (highly interactive online) format
  • Showing 5% or more growth in successful course completions over 2016.

LOMA will present the 2018 EIE Awards, based on the new criteria*, at the 2018 LOMA Annual Conference and Conferment.

What counts as a successful completion?

A successful completion is a passing grade on a proctored (traditional) exam or on a non-proctored (highly interactive online) course. In the student's transcript, a successful completion is indicated by a grade of P.

How does LOMA calculate the percentage of successful completions?

LOMA calculates the percentage of successful completions as:
(Total Successful Completions) / (Total Successful Completions + Failures + DNs)

What counts as a failure?

A failure is a failing grade on a proctored exam. In the student's transcript, a failure is indicated by a grade of F or F+.

What counts as a DN or did not complete?

A DN on a student's transcript occurs when a student allows an enrollment to expire without

  • Either passing or failing a proctored (traditional) exam
  • Completing a non-proctored (highly interactive online) course
