Execution!

The difference between mediocre companies and outstanding companies is less often defined by brilliant ideas or creative policies and more often by companies merely doing the things that we all know good companies should do. Things like listening to your customers, empowering your employees to make good decisions, and keeping focused on doing the most important things without getting distracted or overwhelmed by things that don’t advance the primary mission.

Creating a culture of execution can be extremely difficult. We offer a number of real life examples from companies.

9:00 am - 10:15 am

Building a Power Culture

Doug Buce, President, Boing Dynamics, Inc.

Escape the status quo! Imagine if the people in your organization had the thinking skills and behavioral tools to align and execute with excellence every day. The key to the future is not always “better, faster, cheaper.” The key to the future lies in the weight bearing pillars of a powerful business culture. You will learn: how the paradoxical blend of personal humility and professional drive in leaders impacts associate performance; how what you think and your attitude about complexity drives the bottom line; and how to accomplish big hairy audacious goals by asking yourself one question every day.

As the founder and Chief Learning Officer of Boing Dynamics, Inc., Doug Buce works with companies in securities, insurance, healthcare, technology, and engineering to help them launch ambitious initiatives. Doug was previously the Chief Learning Officer of Wells Real Estate Funds and President of Wells University. While directing the professional development of all employees, he was instrumental in pioneering an educational sales model which impacted over 10,000 financial professionals accounting for over $7 billion in funds raised. For the past 18 years, Doug has delivered keynotes and customized workshops in the areas of sales, leadership, personal and organizational brand development, innovation, and business culture.

Creating a Culture of Execution

Donna Brighton, Chief Ideas Officer, Brighton Leadership Group
As a culture change strategist and business author, Donna Brighton has seen the words culture change, and leadership defined numerous ways over the years. Is it charisma and positive thinking? Pinstripes and red power ties? Decisiveness? Is it all about the situation? Is it meant only for the chosen few who rise to the top? Or, is there a different story?  With over two decades of executive coaching, speaking, and most importantly, real-life, in-the-trenches business experience, Donna has a radically different view. She will explain how leadership is an action and not about title, tenure, or position. Change is a force to be reckoned with, and culture is a leverage point that costs nothing but changes the game completely.
