| Role of the LOMA
Society Committee Representative
A LOMA Society Committee representative is
elected by his/her Society to represent that Society on the LOMA Society Committee. A representative must be employed by a LOMA member
company and must be willing to serve a three-year term. The committee
representative’s responsibilities are as follows:
1. Attend all meetings of the LOMA Society
Committee.
2. Serve on sub-committees and review
panels.
3. Ensure that the membership of the
representative’s Society is informed of all Society committee activities.
4. Serve as liaison between LOMA and the
other officers of the representative’s Society.
5. Fulfill all duties as assigned by
his/her individual Society including submitting the Annual Report to LOMA.
LOMA’s ability to provide support to Societies is contingent
upon receiving accurate and timely information from Society officers. Visit

to download the forms.
6. Respond to LOMA’s requests for input on matters
that the Committee is addressing.
7. The role of the LOMA Society Committee
representative is that of legislator, a role divorced from that of being a
Society Officer and is responsible for representing the entire LOMA
designees' professional movement, not just his or her local Society. The LOMA
Society
Committee meeting, held during LOMA’s Annual Conference and Conferment is intended to develop goals, implement strategies, and to
facilitate discussion and change; it is meant to advance professional
education and ethics. |
