LOMA Presents Education Award to Henry G. Hagan
Atlanta,
GA – September 21, 2007 – LOMA, the leading trade association to the
international insurance and financial services industry and worldwide leader in
learning and professional development, is pleased to announce Henry G. Hagan,
FLMI, CLU, LLIF, the CEO of Monumental Life and President, Monumental Division,
AEGON USA is the recipient of the 2007 LOMA Education Award. Hagan accepted the
award at the LOMA Annual Conference & Conferment on September 17, 2007, in Quebec City,
Quebec,
Canada.
The LOMA Education Award recognizes an individual who has
made an outstanding lifelong contribution to LOMA's education programs and to
raising the caliber of professionalism in the insurance and financial services
industry education as a whole.
As a member of LOMA’s Board of Directors from 1998 to 2004,
Hagan personally raised awareness of the value of LOMA learning and development
programs and increased usage of those programs in AEGON operations around the
world. A strong champion of online learning, Hagan strategic vision as a board
member helped position LOMA as the ‘state-of-the-art’ leader in e-learning
for the financial services industry. Hagan currently serves the industry as a
co-chair of the “Task Force for the Future” which has among its objectives
improving the financial literacy of all Americans and increasing consumer
awareness of the essential role of insurance.
Hagan joined Monumental Life in 1981 as
assistant vice president for new market development, Hagan rose steadily in the
ranks and, in 1996, was elected the company's executive vice president and chief
operating officer. He became CEO, Monumental Life in 1998 and also serves as
President, Monumental Division, AEGON
USA.
