2004 LOMA/LIMRA International Strategic Issues Conference
Achieving Sustained Growth and Getting Ahead of the Competition

ATLANTA, Georgia, United States — March 10 2004 — This June 6-8 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the 12th Annual LOMA/LIMRA International Strategic Issues Conference will focus on how insurance and financial service companies can achieve sustained growth in the highly competitive, increasingly concentrated global marketplace. Under the theme "Creating Your Future," conference attendees will explore topics ranging from product innovation, agency management and risk management to technology, human resources, customer service and supplemental distribution channels.

"The Strategic Issues Conference is a meeting of the greatest industry minds from every corner of the Asia Pacific region," commented Thomas P. Donaldson, FLMI, CLU, president and CEO of LOMA. "Attendees come away with proven business solutions, shared by some of the most influential industry-leaders, that they can contribute to their organizations."

Daniel Bardin, managing director of Prudential Assurance Company Limited (Hong Kong) will kick off the conference with his presentation "Achieving Sustainable Production Growth," which will focus on identifying new areas for growth, innovations in technology, and ways companies can develop their human resources to ensure success in the market.

The 2004 program features a first-ever regulatory panel followed by interactive breakout sessions, which will put attendees directly in touch with the panel experts. Attendees will also benefit from CEOs and industry leaders sharing personal experiences in preparing for a merger, sessions on how to provide exceptional customer service to increasingly well-educated consumers, and much more.

Tony Fernandes, director and CEO of AirAsia Sdn Bhd, Asia’s first "low fare no frills airline" will round out the conference with what promises to be a riveting presentation. The conference also has the support of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM). LIAM is leading the host committee and sponsoring the opening reception on Sunday, June 6th.

"Attending the Strategic Issues Conference is a must if you conduct business in the Asia Pacific region," said Richard A. Wecker, CLU, CLF, LLIF, president and CEO of LIMRA International. "Professionals joining us in Kuala Lumpur will benefit greatly from gaining insight on trends affecting the industry and from networking with peers and industry decision-makers."
