Latest Compliance Concerns to be Addressed at Compliance & Market Conduct Exchange

Atlanta, September 23, 2004 – The Compliance & Market Conduct Exchange will bring together compliance professionals, regulators and industry experts to address current critical compliance concerns, including suitability requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley implementation and new legislative initiatives.  The annual conference, hosted by LIMRA and LOMA, will be held November 7-9, 2004 in Washington , D.C.

The financial services industry continues to face unprecedented regulatory scrutiny and change.  Regulations related to product suitability, replacements, money laundering and privacy-related issues are at the forefront of everyone’s attention.  The heightened focus on internal controls has also added to the pressure on compliance departments.

"Compliance departments continue to face the challenges of new federal regulations while keeping pace with a changing state insurance regulatory environment,“ said Bill Dauksewicz, vice president of individual l ife compliance, Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston , and chairman of the LIMRA- Compliance Committee. “The Compliance and Market Conduct Exchange provides a format that allows you to quickly gather valuable information on a variety of critical issues and to understand how other companies are dealing with these challenges.”

Additional topics at the Compliance & Market Conduct Exchange are a political outlook for 2005, regulatory modernization updates, managing state examinations, compliance technology, field audit practices, current SEC and NASD issues and more.  Registration is $795 for LOMA and LIMRA members, and $1295 for nonmembers for registrations received by October 1, 2004 .  For more information, visit www.loma.org or call 770-984-6453.
