Shanghai to Host 2007
LOMA International Underwriting Congress

Geneva, Switzerland, April 20, 2005—The 2007 International Underwriting Congress (IUC) will be held March 18-21, 2007 at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai, China. The announcement was made today during the closing ceremonies of this year’s Congress in Geneva, Switzerland by Joel V. Basarich, Ph.D., FLMI, ACS, managing director of LOMA's International division.

Thomas P. Donaldson, FLMI, CLU, president and CEO of LOMA and Hank George, FLMI, CLU, FALU, founder and chair of the IUC, expressed great enthusiasm for choosing Shanghai as the host city for the 2007 IUC and they anticipate another compelling, top-notch program of experts.   

The International Underwriting Congress offers a multidisciplinary program focusing on issues related to international life and health insurance risk selection and doing business internationally. Participants include senior executives from leading insurers and reinsurers, underwriting executives, senior technical underwriters, pricing and product development actuaries, medical directors, marketing and claims executives, and representatives of firms offering products and services to the industry. Based on prior attendance of Congresses held in Mexico City, London , Singapore , and Geneva , more than 400 executives are anticipated to attend the 2007 Congress in Shanghai.
