DI & LTC Insurers’ Forum to Feature Top Business Futurist

Atlanta, June 17, 2004 – Dr. James Canton, chairman and CEO of the Institute for Global Futures will be featured at the DI & LTC Insurers’ Forum, a leading conference for disability and long-term care insurers, to be held September 8-10, 2004 in Boston. Canton is an internationally recognized business futurist known for his accurate forecasts of future trends and their impact on customers, business and society. Canton will discuss how science, new values and new customers will transform the marketplace, the workplace and our lives.

James Zilinski, president and CEO of Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America will also share insights into competing in the DI and LTC markets. Berkshire Life is one of the largest DI providers in the industry that has recently moved into the LTC market after extensive investigation and planning.

"Demographics, consumer need and low market penetration contribute to substantial opportunities for growth in the DI and the LTC arena," said Larry Thomas, chief marketing officer of Equitable Life & Casualty Insurance and chair of LIMRA’s DI/LTC Committee. "However, an influx of new players could make the competition for this market intense. The DI & LTC Insurers’ Forum provides a convenient way to obtain the latest information on product strategies, legislative updates and insights into competing in these markets."

The DI & LTC Insurer’s Forum is hosted by LOMA, LIMRA International and Milliman. Topics will cover new product development, underwriting, claims, sales and marketing, and the regulatory environment. Registration is $895 for registrations received by August 9, 2004. For more information, visit www.loma.org/diltc.asp or call 770-984-6446.
