LOMA Winter Technology Conferences Spotlight Exploring The New Terrain For Business.

Futurist and Author—Peter Leyden—Offers Insight on Technology’s Critical Role in Global Economic Expansion.

ATLANTA, Georgia – January 8, 2007—Key developments in technology and the economy have laid the groundwork for continued global economic expansion. Peter Leyden, futurist and co-author of What’s Next? Exploring the New Terrain for Business, will explore this topic and more in his keynote presentation at the LOMA Winter Technology Conferences, February 5-9, 2007 at the San Antonio Crowne Plaza Hotel–Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.

The former managing editor of Wired magazine, Leyden is currently the knowledge developer for Global Business Network (GBN), a futurist think tank and strategic consulting firm specializing in scenario planning. What's Next is a compilation of insight from some 50 provocative thinkers involved with GBN that looks at major themes affecting both the business world and the world at large. In addition to What’s Next, Leyden co-authored The Long Boom: A Future History of the World: 1980-2020, which has been published in eight languages. At the LOMA Winter Technology Conferences, Leyden will lead the audience through the shifting social, economic and technological terrain of business to frame some new ways of thinking about challenges and opportunities in the future.

The LOMA Winter Technology Conferences—the LOMA Distribution Technology Conference, February 5-7, 2007 and the LOMA Emerging Technology Conference, February 7-9, 2007—explore the technologies and innovations that have the greatest potential to positively impact the insurance and financial services industry. Sessions will focus on globalization; business process management; wireless, imaging and workflow technologies; voice and e-signature capabilities; automated underwriting systems and much more.
