LOMA
Conducts New Study of Virtual Workers ATLANTA,
GA—OCTOBER 10, 2007—Virtual
Workers – individuals who work remotely full-time in call centers, claims,
underwriting, IT operations, and other business areas – are widely emerging as
a prominent sector within the insurance and financial services industry. LOMA,
the leading trade association to the insurance and financial services industry,
is conducting a study of the unique personal characteristics that are necessary
for success in the virtual environment. LOMA will use the results of the study
to develop a new employment assessment test that will effectively measure these
unique characteristics. “The time is now for
companies to be thinking about effectively assessing how Virtual Workers fit
with their company structure and culture,” stated Barbara Kruse, second vice
president, Employee Assessment and Selection Products. “As Virtual Workers
become more prevalent throughout our industry, hiring managers must take into
consideration the unique personal characteristics that will either enable or
hinder these individuals in their respective job fields. We’re hoping that the
results of this study enable companies to best evaluate potential Virtual
Workers and provide them with the most effective work force possible”. Through extensive
statistical analyses and research, LOMA develops employee assessments that are
tested, refined, and validated for the insurance and financial services
industry. For more information about LOMA’s Virtual Worker study and to
