NEW EDITIONS OF LOMA 330 MANAGEMENT AND STATISTICS TEXTS AVAILABLE

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES - MAY 31, 2007 - LOMA, the leading trade association to the international insurance and financial services industry and worldwide leader in learning and professional development, announces new editions of its Management and Statistics textbooks for LOMA 330: Management Principles and Practices. Both texts are assigned reading for the course. 

Management Principles and Practices, Third Edition (2007), authored by Robert Kreitner, is co-published by LOMA and Houghton Mifflin Custom Publishing. An engaging and readable overview of management theory, research, and practice, the text includes many new topics of relevance, including "offshoring" of jobs; new technology to watch; competencies for successful cross-cultural adaptation; new data on ethics training; and pointers for conducing successful meetings. The text has an overriding focus on change and emphasizes skill development, managing diversity, and ethical concerns.

Statistics and Decision Sciences in Information Management, Second Edition (2007), was authored by Elizabeth A. Mulligan, FLMI, FLHC, PCS, AAPA, AIRC, ARA, AIAA, PAHM, and is designed to give readers a basic understanding of how information captured by information systems is presented to, and used by, decision makers in insurance and financial services companies.

LOMA 330: Management Principles and Practices is one course within LOMA's award-winning Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) Program curriculum, which provides key knowledge of how the insurance industry operates. The 10 self-study courses deliver a comprehensive business education in the context of the insurance and financial services industry. The FLMI Program features a solid introduction to industry terms, functional areas, processes, and area- and product-specific knowledge in marketing, administration and financial reporting.
