LOMA: Going Global with New Edition of LOMA 371 Text

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATESApril 7, 2009 - LOMA, the worldwide leader in learning and professional development within the
insurance and financial services industry, has released Risk Management and Product Design for Insurance Companies (2008). Insurance
companies manage their financial flexibility and overall financial success through close attention to managing risk. LOMA’s timely publication
Risk Management and Product Design for Insurance Companies addresses the new paradigm of risk management for insurance companies,
starting with a broad view of enterprise risk management in an insurance company context and carrying the risk management story throughout
supporting–level applications within insurance companies. This new text focuses on enterprise risk management and current practices in product
development and design, incorporating important information on stochastic modeling and actuarial risk management software. The text reflects a
strong international focus.

Important areas of coverage include strategic risk management, risk classification, risk appetite and risk tolerance, operational risk management
and operational efficiency, asset-liability management, product risk management for life insurance and annuities, underwriting and reinsurance as
tools of risk management, mortality risk management, policyholder behavior risk for life insurance and annuities, tail risk, profitability goals, and
economic capital. Other classic topics of coverage are the time value of money, the product development process, and product design.

Authored by Susan Conant, FLMI, HIA, CEBS; Lisa M. Kozlowski, FLMI, FFSI, CLU, ChFC, AIAA, AIRC, ARA, FLHC, AAPA, ACS; and Patsy
