Re CEO To Open
2005 LOMA International Underwriting Congress

LOMA, the leading trade association to the international insurance and
financial trade industry, announces with great enthusiasm that John
Coomber, CEO of Swiss Re, will deliver the opening keynote address at the
2005 LOMA International Underwriting Congress (IUC).
Coomber offers experienced insight on the field of risk management. He
started his career with the Phoenix Insurance Company, joined Swiss Re in
1973, and since that time has served as appointed actuary for Swiss Re
(UK), assumed responsibility for the company’s life division, and later
was made head of
UK
operations. He was appointed chief executive officer of Swiss Re Group on
January 1, 2003 and since that time has become a member of the executive
board of Swiss Re and the supervisory board of Euler Hermes.

offers a multidisciplinary program focusing on issues related to

Risk Management.” In addition to Coomber’s keynote address—Imagining
