AIG’S HOFFMAN AWARDED THE 2006 LOMA EDUCATION AWARD
ATLANTA, GA--Sept. 11, 2006--LOMA, the leading trade association to the international insurance and financial services industry and worldwide leader in learning and professional development, is pleased to announce Thomas M. Hoffman, vice president (retired) of human resources for the life division worldwide of American International Group (AIG) is the recipient of the 2006 LOMA Education Award. Hoffman will be presented his award at the LOMA Annual Conference & Conferment on September 18, 2006 in San Francisco, California.
Hoffman’s duties at AIG have included responsibility for training and development, executive search and succession planning. He has been a key contributor in defining and implementing AIG’s human resource development strategy in the more than 130 locations in which AIG has operations and has served as a member of both LOMA’s education and training council and LOMA’s human resources executive panel.
“AIG’s commitment to establishing a culture of learning has historic roots, dating back to the founding of AIG in 1919 in Shanghai,” stated Kathy Milligan, FLMI, ACS, ALHC, vice president, LOMA education and training. “Tom remained faithful to that tradition and has served as an important link to connecting LOMA’s education and training products and services into the organization’s learning culture. As a result of his tireless dedication and hard work both at AIG and as an industry volunteer, LOMA’s professional development programs are truly the standard for learning and development at AIG and at many other companies throughout the world.”
The LOMA Education Award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding lifelong contribution to LOMA's education programs and to raising the caliber of professionalism in the insurance and financial services industry education as a whole. The recipient of the LOMA Education Award is chosen by LOMA’s education and training council which is comprised of senior executives from LOMA member companies who provide guidance and counsel on the education and training needs of the industry.
