Industry Leader at 2004 Annual Conference & Conferment
ATLANTA, GA, September
21, 2004—The 2004 LOMA Education Award was presented to King Mawhinney, FLMI, CLU,
ChFC, PCS, FLHC, HIA, RHU during LOMA’s 2004 Annual Conference &
Conferment in Boston, Massachusetts.
Mawhinney,
Vice President-Retired - USAA Life, is a seasoned industry veteran since
1977 with a wealth of industry expertise and experience. He worked with
LOMA for 20 years to create globally recognized education programs,
ensure the highest quality of examinations standards, and implement
cutting edge online software that LOMA currently uses to deliver LOMA
examinations and store student records. He also sat on LOMA’s Board of
Directors and served as the Chairman of LOMA’s Education and Training
Council.
The
award was bestowed during the conference with more than 800 of the
industry’s elite in attendance. After accepting his award, Mawhinney
said "As I look back on my career, I realize that some of my most
satisfying experiences are a result of my work with LOMA. I had the
chance to make great friends, to learn and grow, and to give back to our
industry."
This
prestigious award was created more than 20 years ago and recognizes
outstanding contributions to LOMA’s professional education programs.
It is the highest honor LOMA can bestow on an individual in the
insurance and financial services industry. Recently retired from USAA,
Mawhinney lives with his wife Cathy in
North Carolina
.
Since its inception, LOMA has
awarded more than 150,000 professional designations in 12
professional designation programs, such as the award winning Fellow,
Life Management Institute (FLMI) education program and LOMA’s recently
launched Fellow, Financial Services Institute designation. LOMA now
offers programs in Bahasa Indonesia, French, Portuguese, Spanish,
Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Korean.
