2004 Caribbean Conference
Critical Information Exchange for Operations in
Highly Competitive Region

ATLANTA, Georgia, United States—March 2004— Sharing innovative strategies for insurance and financial services companies operating in the Caribbean is the focus of the 2004 Caribbean Conference, sponsored jointly by LOMA and LIMRA International. The conference, June 27–29, 2004 at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas, features general sessions addressing business trends, panel discussions between industry leaders, hands-on workshops and excellent networking opportunities under the theme—Expanding Your Horizons: Staying Ahead of the Competition.

"Considerable industry consolidation in the Caribbean has made competition for business intense," stated Thomas P. Donaldson, FLMI, CLU, president and CEO of LOMA. "Caribbean Conference attendees will come away with tactics for not only surviving– but thriving in the increasingly competitive global marketplace."

Allyson Maynard-Gibson, Minister of Financial Services & Investment, Bahamas, and Tony Gordon, 2001 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) president, are featured speakers on the program this year. Gordon will also conduct a producer’s workshop. Additional sessions include: the latest on multi-line distribution from Chuck Wright of State Farm; an FTAA panel of industry experts featuring Maryse Robert (Trade Specialist, OAS), Carl Cira (Director, Summit of the Americas Center, Florida Int’l University), and Lesley Walcott (Attorney at Law, University of the West Indies); an overview of key regulatory issues, product and customer service innovations, and a look at the new insurance executive.

"Any company based-in, or looking to conduct business in the region will benefit greatly from attending the 2004 Caribbean Conference," said Richard A. Wecker, CLU, CLF, LLIF, president and CEO of LIMRA International. "In addition to hearing about the latest trends affecting the industry from experts, participants will come away with real business solutions for their own operations."
