How do I receive or replace my designation award or earn an award with honors?
How do I receive my designation award?
LOMA provides personalized certificates and diplomas to learners automatically upon completion of the appropriate levels of LOMA Education Programs—a Certificate for successful completion of the ALMI, FLMI, AFSI, and FFSI Level 1 courses and a diploma for completing any Associate, Professional, or Fellow designation. Names appear on awards as they are listed on LOMA student records and do not include other designations or titles.
Awards earned each month are printed and mailed to company Ed Reps or directly to Independent Students. LOMA cannot be responsible for lost awards in the event a student has moved and not updated the mailing address in LOMANET. Awards arrive approximately 10 weeks after the last course is posted in LOMANET. All certificates and diplomas will state the month and year in which the student passed the final exam to earn the designation.
As soon as you receive notification that you have successfully completed all the requirements of your Program, you may begin using your designation proudly on your business cards, stationery, and nameplates.
How do I order a replacement designation award?
To order a replacement designation award, complete the form below and fax or mail it with payment to LOMA. The replacement award will be printed with the other awards earned that month and will arrive six to eight weeks after the end of the month for which it was requested.
How do I earn an award with Honors or Distinction?
You may earn some Associate Program designations “With Honors” and earn the FLMI and FFSI designations “With Distinction.” To earn a designation “With Honors” or the Fellowship-level designations “With Distinction,” you must meet the following qualifications:
- No required or elective courses may be failed.
- Credits earned from other associations do not count toward the average.
- For each requirement in any designation path, if a course is taken more than once, only the grade from the first time the course is taken will be counted in the average score for earning “With Honors” or “With Distinction.”
- An 85% or greater, unrounded average grade for these specific courses of each designation must be earned:
- FLMI, AIAA, AIRC, ALMI and ARA: All required courses except LOMA 280/LOMA 281 and LOMA 290/LOMA 291.
- FFSI and AFSI: All required courses except LOMA 286 and LOMA 305.
- AAPA: All required courses.
Please be advised that programs such as the Associate, Customer Service (ACS), which now have a majority of their required courses available in an online, interactive format — ACS 101, among others — will no longer be eligible for “With Honors,” because of the inability to determine a numerical score on their integrated exams.
Note: A grade of DN (“did not sit”) has no effect on earning a designation “With Honors” or “With Distinction.”
