WINDSOR, Conn. June 21, 2023 —  Industry leaders will examine how to better address the growing consumer need for supplemental health, disability insurance (DI), and long-term care insurance (LTCI) at this year’s Supplemental Health, DI & LTC Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, from August 2 – 4.

Recent LIMRA research reports that 61% of consumers say they need long-term care insurance, and nearly half (48%) say they need disability insurance, while more than a quarter of workers say critical illness and long-term care insurance are among their top unmet benefits needs.

“It’s important that leaders in the financial services industry continue to innovate and deliver these solutions to consumers. The financial protection these products offer can help people feel peace of mind,” noted Alison Salka, Ph.D., senior vice president and director of research for LIMRA and LOMA. “This year’s conference will allow for a cross-functional conversation to do just that.”

Kicking off the event is the Taking Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to the Next Level panel, which will focus on how to provide products and services effectively to various customer segments in a culturally inclusive way. Moderated by Ed Carter, product director for individual disability at Principal Financial, panelists include:

This year’s keynote speakers include:

Additional concurrent sessions will focus on new disability income regulations, mental health benefits, market segmentation, combatting fraud in supplemental health claims, digitization, the economic impact on LTC carriers, and new GAAP accounting standards.

The conference, co-hosted by LIMRA and LOMA and the Society of Actuaries, draws industry leaders and professionals who operate in the supplemental health, long-term care, and DI industries.
