Overview & Highlights

The Learning and Management Development meeting is a forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience, best practices, and information among head-office and field learning and management development personnel.

Many of us working as learning and management development professionals in the insurance field are experiencing dramatic changes in our organizational structure, in our technology, and in our services. In our roles, it’s important that we help lead our companies in this changing time. We’re also often bound by tight budgetary restrictions, limited resources, and are constantly looking for new ways to help our employees learn and help our managers and leaders develop.

The Learning and Management Development Section will be hosting two interactive sessions where we will have the opportunity to learn about new and innovative approaches to “we learning.”

Morning Session

Innovative Learning in the Workplace
The panel discussion will profile three industry representatives who will share specific examples of how they made an impact in the delivery of innovative and effective learning in their workplace. Topics include global virtual conferences, LOMA study groups, and repurposing traditional learning content for virtual delivery.

Afternoon Session

Creating Buy In for Training Dollars
Our keynote speaker will demonstrate how to communicate and influence senior leaders more effectively to garner support for learning initiatives. Additional resources will be provided to participants to assist in integrating these approaches into their workplace.

Both sessions will provide opportunities to share ideas and walk away with tactical tools to implement in our workplace.
