By identifying strengths and weaknesses in your organization, you can focus your resources where they will make the greatest impact. The LOMA Life Insurance and Annuity Service Turnaround Times Surveys are valuable tools in comparing your organization's performance to that of other companies. The reports provide important service time information about various new business and policyowner service functions, and can help guide you in setting internal benchmarks and performance standards.

Separate surveys are conducted for individual life insurance and annuities. Each participating company receives a customized report comparing its results to those of all companies in the survey.

Flexibility to report in both calendar or business days! Realizing that companies measure service times in both calendar and business days, we give you the flexibility to submit your service times either way. The survey results will be reported in calendar days. All service times that are submitted in business days will be converted and reported in calendar days by multiplying by a factor of 1.4 to get a calendar day equivalent.

In 2013, 29 companies participated in the Life Survey and 17 companies participated in the Annuity Survey.

Companies participating in the Life Insurance Service Turnaround Times Survey submit separate service times for the following types of individual life insurance:

  • Whole Life
  • Term Life
  • Universal Life
  • Variable Life
  • Variable Universal Life

Companies participating in the Annuity Service Turnaround Times Survey submit separate service times for the following types of individual annuities:

  • Fixed Annuities
  • Variable Annuities
  • Indexed Annuities

Peer Group Comparison

Purchase the Peer Group Comparison Report option to get a better understanding of how your company compares to the peer companies of your choice from the list of survey participants. You must select a minimum of four participating companies (no maximum) that you would like us to include in your Peer Group Comparison Report. We will then create a separate customized report for you for life or annuity or both (participation in the survey is required in order to purchase the Peer Group Comparison).
