LIMRA and LOMA Announce 2014 Social Media Silver Bowl Winners
BOSTON, Aug. 21, 2014 — LIMRA and LOMA announced the winners of the second annual Social Media Silver Bowl Awards at the LIMRA LOMA 2014 Social Media Conference for Financial Services in Boston, Mass. on Aug. 21, 2014.
The Social Media Silver Bowl awards recognize originality, innovation and effective social media campaigns or programs run on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and other popular platforms. New categories were added this year to recognize the best use of social media for social good and to award the best use of social media by an agent or advisor. In addition, a “Best of the Best” was recognized from among the winning entries.
“LIMRA research shows that 93 percent of life insurance companies now have social media programs in place,” said James Kerley, chief membership officer for LIMRA and LOMA. “With broad adoption like this, now the question becomes how to define social media excellence in financial services. That’s why we created the Silver Bowl awards."
Kerley will co-moderate the presentation of the Silver Bowl Awards with Michael Lock, president and COO of Hearsay Social. "The quality of Silver Bowl Award entries showcases how companies and advisors are creatively incorporating social media into their business practices. 28 companies submitted 49 entries for consideration. LIMRA and LOMA enlisted 49 financial services executives to judge the submissions. No executive was asked to review the submissions from their company.
