Associate, Secure Retirement Institute

Overview

To attain the Associate, Secure Retirement Institute™ (ASRI™), the learner must complete Level 1 as well as three Level 2 courses.

The Level 2 courses:

  • Teach advanced concepts in generating successful retirement outcomes and the application of retirement industry knowledge to marketing, business acquisition, administration/operations, service, and other functions that support the business
  • Provide learners with job-relevant knowledge about retirement financial solutions and the critical activities of the retirement financial services business

Learners who complete Level 1 (Certificate in Retirement Essentials) and Level 2 will earn the Associate, Secure Retirement Institute (ASRI) designation.

Courses

Learners must complete six required courses to earn the ASRI designation.

SRI 111 — Retirement Marketplace

This online interactive course provides an overview of the needs of people preparing for retirement, the key providers and products that offer solutions to those needs, and the critical concepts that affect retirement planning.

SRI 121 — Retirement Savings and Investments

This online interactive course is designed to familiarize students with various retail and institutional financial products used to save and invest for retirement, as well as the tax implications of those products.

SRI 131 — Planning for a Secure Retirement

This online interactive course takes learners through the retirement planning process, identifies the tools that are available to help individuals create a retirement plan, and describes the primary components of a comprehensive retirement plan.

SRI 210 — Successful Retirement Outcomes

SRI 210 describes the importance of retirement income planning in the decumulation phase of retirement. Learners will gain knowledge of the essential steps in retirement income planning, including how an individual or couple calculates the amount of income needed to satisfy retirement goals; evaluates income sources and expenses to determine whether a shortfall exists; and then develops, implements, and monitors a strategy for generating income and protecting assets.

This course is currently under development, with availability projected for 2015.

SRI 220 — Retirement Marketing and Business Acquisition

This course introduces the companies and individuals involved in retirement marketing and takes learners through the general steps in the business acquisition process for both institutional and retail markets, with a primary focus on technical design and distribution strategies. The course will also examine strategic marketing issues such as government policies, consumer behaviors, and economic conditions.

This course is currently under development, with availability projected for 2015. 

SRI 230 — Retirement Administration and the Customer Experience

SRI 230 delivers knowledge about administration functions for existing retirement accounts, products, and plans and incorporates a theme of enhancing the customer experience.

Level I: LOMA awards a personalized certificate to learners upon successful completion of SRI 111, SRI 121, and SRI 131.

Learners who have credit for the other LOMA courses below automatically receive credit for the applicable retirement-program course shown.
