Companies in the competitive financial services industry need employees who understand financial products and the operational aspects of the financial institutions that create and administer those products. The Associate, Financial Services Institute™ (AFSI®) is an associate-level designation that recognizes and rewards the achievement of industry professionals who have completed five courses within the Fellow, Financial Services Institute™ (FFSI®) Program. Please note, the AFSI will be offered only through the end of 2015.
The AFSI rewards professionals who go beyond the basics in acquiring critical industry knowledge and provides for a higher level of customization in learning paths, based on job-specific learning needs.
AFSI courses provide a foundation of knowledge in areas such as:
- Financial planning
- Financial services products
- Investment practices
- The financial services environment
- Compliance and Legal
- Financial Services and Financial Planning
- Institutional Investing
- Marketing and Business Acquisition
- Retirement and Annuities
Learners must complete three required courses and two electives to earn the AFSI designation.
LOMA 311 presents the basic features and principles of the legal environment in which financial services companies around the world operate.
LOMA 326 covers basic marketing principles and the functions of marketing in a financial services environment.
LOMA 335 presents financial services from the perspective of a company’s operations management. This course focuses on practical techniques to accomplish the everyday tasks of providing financial services as efficiently as possible.
LOMA 380 introduces a broad array of group insurance and employee retirement plans.
