LOMA Membership FAQ's

 

  1. Question: What does LOMA stand for?
  2. Answer: In the past, LOMA was an acronym for Life Office Management Association. In more recent years, LOMA has expanded into serving the broader financial services industry.

  3. Question: Are membership dues prorated?
  4. Answer: Dues are prorated for Full U.S. and Canadian members. Dues are not prorated for U.S. and Canadian Affiliate members. Membership Dues are based on a calendar year.

  5. Question: Will a LOMA membership pay for itself?
  6. Answer: In most cases, yes. We have included a cost comparison on the web site, to help you decide if LOMA membership is right for your company. Feel free to contact LOMA’s Membership Department for individual assistance.

  7. Question: I want to attend a conference and noticed the difference in fees. Can my company become a member today, in order for me to register and pay member rates to attend the conference?
  8. Answer: Yes, we would need a completed application and the dues payment (a corporate credit card will suffice) to activate membership.

  9. Question: Does LOMA sell their membership mailing lists?
  10. Answer: No, LOMA does not sell our membership mailing list. We do have a list of member companies on the ‘Members Only’ portion of our web site at www.loma.org. It includes main company addresses and LOMA contact people. 

  11. Question: What types of companies are Affiliate members?
  12. Answer: Software vendors, TPA’s (Third Party Administrators), Brokers/Agencies, Banks, Consulting companies, Health Insurance companies and more.

  13. Question: What percentage of your US and Canadian members are Full members (companies that actually underwrite Life insurance)?
  14. Answer: LOMA has over 1200 members, including International members. Approximately 75% of our U.S. and Canadian members are Full members.  

  15. Question: My company would qualify as an Affiliate member. How can we get the word out about our products and services to LOMA members?
  16. Answer: LOMA has a Publications Dept. that will be glad to assist you with marketing your products and services through placing an ad in Resource magazine and/or exhibiting and sponsoring one of our major conferences.  For information, e-mail clark@loma.org

  17. Question: How much are LOMA membership dues?

9.    Answer: U.S. and Canadian Full membership dues are calculated for each company based on Premium Income and start at $1050. Affiliate dues fall into one of four categories: $2,175, $2,700, $3,500 or $4,850, based on total company revenue. Click here for more information on Membership Dues.
