Each year, LOMA identifies member companies that make an outstanding contribution to its employees and the financial services industry in the area of continued learning and professional development that is calling for special recognition. The Educational Quality Award recognizes a member company’s history of employee professional learning excellence. The award recognizes organizations with strong leadership that have demonstrated a cultural commitment to continuous employee professional development and industry as a whole.

The Educational Quality Award was designed to recognize member companies with exemplary employee development programs. Among the items considered are:

• A company’s strategic commitment to continuous employee development 

• Senior management involvement in and support of employee professional development throughout the organization

• Documented corporate wide policies providing for the support of students:

-- Providing classes

-- Payment of exam fees and study materials

-- Formal employee development planning process

-- Having the role of Ed Representative as a formal job duty

• Role of LOMA’s educational courses and professional development resources within the company

• Support of industry wide professional development:

-- Company volunteers serving on LOMA course review panels

-- Company volunteers serving on LOMA exam review panels

-- Company volunteers speaking at LOMA conferences

-- Participation in related LOMA committees

-- Participation in local LOMA Societies

• Length of demonstrated history of all of the above

This award is application based  and qualitative in nature with the above criteria being looked at in total and based on LOMA’s knowledge of industry norms and best practices.
